My Beauty Maintenance
My mom always told me “la belleza cuesta” translates to “beauty costs” the reality with the cost of living right now it’s almost impossible to be high maintenance.
As much as we may not want to admit it, the reality is that beauty is a commodity. It may not be the best commodity. However, it can help you get further opportunities in life whether it’s through romance, career opportunities, developing friendships, or just being treated like a decent human being. When it comes to beauty standards is important to also acknowledge that it has his history of white supremacy and excluding marginalized populations. However, in recent changes in society diversity is celebrated and there is not one linear way of being considered beautiful.

As a high maintenance girlie I do have a monthly beauty budget. But this upcoming year I’m decided to find ways to reduce costs to meet some of my financial goals.
For starters, I don’t buy make up because I don’t really use make up. But I do buy skin care products.
Here is my skin care routine:
My hair is red and black! So My favorite stylist Viviana is where I go every other 2 months or so to get a retouch!
I do have eyelash extensions and I get my nails done on a monthly bases as well.
And lastly, I have curly hair, which means I buy products every three months or so. Here are my go to curly products that I buy!
To be completely honest and frank I do work a lot and I do not have any kids. So a lot of my money I invest in myself and my family. Beauty is an investment and a commodity. It may not the best commodity as in the TikTok discuss below but I would be lying you if I tell you I doesn’t give you some advantages in life!
